PowerPlay is a written documentary going behind-the-scenes of my business for 12 months.
Sit back, grab a cup of coffee and indulge in a bit of “business reality” as you get the nitty gritty details of when went down during 2013. You won’t believe how much things change within 12 months. Learn from me – my mistakes, my successes & most of all – get inspired to take this journey with me.
I had originally planned to keep this all within my private PowerPlay group I started back in November 2012. However, this stuff was just too good to keep under wraps, so I’m making it available to anyone who wants it with hopes that it will inspire and help those who couldn’t join us live.
In the full 2013 edition, we talk about:
- my ongoing monthly revenues

- my 2013 goals
- building a community
- creating & growing a responsive email list
- dealing with fear & uncertainty
- why I made the decision to stop designing

Who will PowerPlay help?
If you’re just starting your business, this is a fantastic tool to see how much work goes into running a business every day, every week and every month. It’ll also give you a jumpstart to get the crucial things done that you absolutely need in your business.
If you’ve been in business for a year or two, this guide will help you measure up and see what you could be doing different. You could even take some of the ideas presented in this book and apply them to your own business.
Why document my year in a book?
The reason for creating PowerPlay was two-fold.
#1 It gives other small creative business owner’s a guilt-free look behind-the-scenes of another creative business.
Every business owner out there wishes they had that info, but most can’t ever find it. I’m giving it to you.
#2 It’s all about the journey.
I, like many of you, always have my eyes set on the prize.
I tend to want to skip right over the path to reach that end goal – one because I’m super impatient, and two, because I just love accomplishing my goals.
Rather, this program is all about the journey to get to that prize.
It’s about those steps that we take to reach a certain goal. It’s about the rollercoaster ride and the pleasant surprises.
Praise for PowerPlay
“Having just started my business this year, I can honestly say that PowerPlay has played an integral part in my success so far. It has helped me organize my business plan and lay the groundwork for how I want my business to look one, five, even ten years from now.
In particular, I’ve gotten a lot of value out of Part 3: Goals & Inner Circles. Creating a detailed list of intentions has helped keep me on track with a clear and level head — especially when I was transitioning from my full-time corporate job to my consulting business.
Most importantly, PowerPlay has helped calm my nerves as I tread out into the mysterious entrepreneurial unknown. With more than ten years of professional experience and an MBA under my belt, it has been entirely too easy to get caught up in the potential negative outcomes and never ending “what ifs?”. PowerPlay has helped me push through all of that because the material reinforces business objectives and serves as a great reminder that no small business owner is alone in this crazy world — there are many go-getters out there blazing their own trail.”
“Amanda Genther cooked up something crazy delicious in PowerPlay. I devoured it. And it’s not just because I love Amanda’s adorable sense of humor and her down-to-earth, midwestern vibe.
Seriously if you want to know how a successful 20 something business owner is making her money and growing her empire, check this out! I can’t believe how much she shared about her business tools and systems in this thing! She gives you the scoop – down to the penny!”

“I purchased PowerPlay with a slight bit of skepticism as to what new information I could soak up to improve my start-up. I’ve read many of many other books and blogs on business coaching but I have to say Amanda’s candid insight was very refreshing and I did learn A LOT.
Amanda shares with you her direct road map to success in a way that makes it easy to apply her tips and resources to your own business. I know the advice I gained from PowerPlay will greatly increase the productivity with my start-up and I have her to thank for that.
I definitely recommend PowerPlay, even if you already utilized similar small business resources. She truly has something fresh to offer.”
